hi.. I'm sure you'll fully recover from the heart attack, ..I've also had a traumatic event quite early on in my life, I was top-of the world one day, and the next, I was paralysed bcos of a massive stroke... one day at a time.. and take it easy. (my main mission, and www.twinkii.net has more details) You might like to peruse some links which I found: http://www.healthjockey.com/2008/04/16/naturopathy-treatments-to-prevent-a-heart-attack/ and, http://womenshealth.aetna.com/WH/ihtWH/r.WSIHW000/st.36134/t.36253.html - don't worry, I think men and women are interchangeable in this context :) .. I wish you the best of luck in the No Smoking campaign, good vibes in your mission. Cheers.

Thanx to Jacqui for her words of support and encouragement, I hope your doing well yourself.

To Jo, I am due to have blood taken on 28th Jan. I am getting better daily. Lots more walking. My rehab nurse has now upped my dosage of Ramipril which is a positive step. Thanx for the continued support.

It is sounding very positive, PAG. Good for you! Have you looked into your diet, as well? Try upping your dose of greens every day, building your meals from the vegies up. Do you have a steamer or a steamer basket? Steaming vegies keeps them crisp, and they taste wonderful, esp. with just a little drizzle of olive oil. You hardly need anything else :-)

Jo, I am eating at least 3 pieces of fruit and have upped my intake of veg. In fact, my wife has just made a veggie soup using a whole red onion, 3 potatoes, 2 cloves of garlic, swede and a veggie stock cube.....mmmm lovely. We do use a 3 stack steamer for most of the veggies (carrots, brussels, cauliflower, broccoli etc). I must say, I'm feeling better than I have in a long time. Still not smoking either.

Yay for the both of you! That is great news. I don't know if it is a change for you, or if you were already cooking and eating that way. http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/features/5-heart-healthy-foods Here is another link, with some interesting foods which help the heart! Cutting down on red meat, and upping the vegie based protein is helpful, too. Great about the no-smoking! You'll be winding back your body clock! :-) Keep it up!
