There's a calculator to help work it out on here:

http://www.carbonfootprint.com/

I hope that's useful, I wanted to look up more info, but my computer is extremely bad at the moment!

BTW I like the new pic you've put up! :D

wow....our carbon footprint is approximately 10 tonnes! Country average for ITaly is 7 tonnes. My goodness! I couldn't do it properly as I don't know how much electricity we use each year, and so guessed, but could have been way off. Also the car mileage was fudged, but I do do a lot of driving, as we live in such a small town, a long way from where I work! Also I have at least one flight to London each year...

So now just need to work on offsetting it...or reducing it!

Did you find any good tips on the site for reducing your carbon footprint?

http://stopglobalwarming.care2.com/ you can offset 1 pound of CO2 each day with a free click of a button.(they use the many from adds to improve the enviroment. They also have other causes you can help with and it only takes a few seconds). It's not much but it adds up.

I'm not sure, I haven't been able to open my emails at all since Tuesday, I can't access facebook, some pages try to load but never make it, others load, but are just a jumble of text. I've tried re-registering dll files, I've tried deleting temp internet files, cookies etc, but all with no luck. It might be something to do with an out of date DNS server, but I have no idea what to do about that, I think that's on my ISPs end?

Yes, it's the DNS thing on the ISPs end. I can't get on to them because I'm not the bill payer, they refuse to deal with me. I just have to hope that everyone else will the same ISP reports the problem and it gets resolved quickly!

Yeah, I'm glad that you like it Jo :) Tracy I hope you get that sorted out soon, it sounds like a nightmare. Sorry for the off topic talk. Lets see if I can be more productive here, An inconvient Truth is a great movie that is all about climate change a must see if you haven't already although I can't remember if they give tips or not.

ABC did a story on this a few years ago that has some tips and facts you might be interested in and some websites to check out: http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/Story?id=2049304&page=1

This site also has a list of 50 things that you can do to reduce your carbon imprint, although I hate the font they used there is lots of good e=info here. http://www.metroactive.com/metro/08.15.07/50-ways-to-go-green-0733.html

I hope that's of some help Jo and congrats for doing something to help save the planet.
